Centre for Media Studies, established in 1991, is a pioneer research organisation that has completed over 500 projects in the field of social research and communication. What is unique about CMS Academy?
The pioneers of communication, media and marketing research studies in India are the founder members of
CMS Academy of Communication & Convergence Studies. Their expertise complements the existing repository of CMS case studies, reports and research findings ensuring a trustworthy and firm foundation for the institute.
After impressive research experience of two decades, CMS Academy was conceived for the converging era keeping in mind the need for novelty and innovation in availing communication technologies.
Another unique feature of CMS Academy is its labs (Media Lab, Prototype lab, Futures Lab, Content Lab and Communication Lab) facilities that encourage students to pursue their intellectual aspirations as per their aptitude.
The Academy also provides hands-on-experience to the students as they get the opportunity to be proactive in CMS Vatavaran Film Festival, India Corruption Surveys, Transparency Studies Unit and CMS Media Lab. Students also participate in live projects and various research initiatives as professionals, which gives them opportunity to earn while they are still learning.

The Academy provides bus shuttle service to students residing in Delhi and NCR

What is Strategic Communication? PG Diploma in Strategic Communication is a course that focuses on critical thinking, analysis and practical skills required in contemporary communications and dynamic media scenario.
What is Convergence Journalism?PG Diploma in Convergence Journalism is a course that gives holistic perspective to fundamentals of reporting, writing and editing in print, broadcast and new media.
What is future scope in these fields?
Strategic Communication
Recent spurt in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, corporate competitiveness, customer satisfaction concerns has unleashed business communication as a newer discipline requiring specialised skills. Similarly, with the growth of development sector more and more non profit organisations need professional and qualified communication managers who are capable of advocacy for social change. But the lack of proper training in the field has created a void in the market. CMS Academy’s PG Diploma in Strategic Communication helps its students to develop necessary skill sets to harness the opportunity.
Convergence Journalism
The emerging media needs to make advances to create new forms of digital journalism as traditional media - print and broadcast are facing challenges of tightening budget and changing audience habits, while, new media are responding to evolving needs and interests of the public. This evolution has generated a demand of a new fleet of journalists – convergent journalists who are capable of transmitting same piece of information in various media formats i.e., print, broadcast, web, PDA and cell phone. CMS academy trains its Convergence Journalism students to lead the new army of convergent journalists.

The uniquely designed courses by CMS Academy will place you directly at middle and senior managerial levels in leading national and international:

Corporate houses (as Market Researchers, Corporate Communication Managers, Brand Managers, Advertising and Media Planners);

What is the intake of students for Core Courses (Strategic Communication and Convergence Journalism)?
The intake for Academic year 2009-10 is 20 students each.
What is the fee structure?
Total fee for core courses is Rs. 1,00,000/-, including Rs. 10,000/- refundable security deposit.
What are the eligibility criteria for Core Courses (Strategic Communication and Convergence Journalism)?
A minimum of 50 per cent marks in a bachelor’s degree. Candidates appearing for their final examinations for such a degree are also eligible.
What is the admission procedure?The interested candidate has to take a written entrance test followed by an interview.
When does the academic session commence?
The session begins from 3rd August 2009.
