CMS Academy offers two unique courses in Communication and Media

Patna: Media has today transformed itself into a diversified sector opening new avenues not just in the field of print and electronic media but also in corporate and social sectors. The issue was discussed at length during a workshop organized by the CMS Academy of Communication and Convergence Studies on January 16 at AN College, Patna. The workshop ‘New Age Careers in Communication, Media and Management Sectors’ saw large scale participation of students. Speaking on the occasion, Director CMS Academy, Ms PN Vasanti, discussed about the new avenues that are opening in the specialized fields of Communication and Media. She elaborated that two unique courses being offered by CMS Academy i.e. Convergence Journalism and Strategic Communication, are specifically designed to train students to become future leaders.

 Ms. P.N. Vasanti counseled students during the education fair Global Gurukul held in the city today. Curious students had a lot of queries about the placements, areas of specialization and future prospects in the communication and media sector. Replying to the queries of students Ms PN Vasanti said “The specialized courses ensure placement as we have more than 200 partners who require futuristically oriented and practically trained students who can meet challenges thrown by market and new technologies.”

Courses offered

•    Strategic Communication
The 11 months PG Diploma in Strategic Communication programme prepares students for careers of strategically oriented communication executives and entrepreneurs. It is a skill-based   programme in corporate communications, advertising, public relations and social marketing. Students can go for specialization in Marketing Communication or Communication for Social Change.

•    Convergence Journalism
This full time 11-month PG Diploma course is aimed towards creating highly competent professionals with the ability to report, write, edit and deliver news in any and all media. It is an intensive programme that trains youngsters to be a new-age reporter, anchor, editor and broadcaster. Students can do their specialization in Business Journalism or environment Journalism

The Academy also brings with it the collaboration and expertise of premier International communications Schools (Ohio University; Annenberg School of Communication in USA, InHolland University and Sterling University in Europe) and national institutes like Andhra University.
